Help shape the future of Food Vendors in Collingwood!

Please take notice that a review of the following by-laws relating to Business Licensing within the Town of Collingwood is currently being undertaken:

  • Business Licensing By-law No. 2010-064, specific to Schedule E – Food Vendors

At its meeting held December 13, 2021 Council of the Town of Collingwood formally approved staff report C2021-22 Update to Business Licensing Review – Food Vendors and as such a temporary moratorium on the issuance of 2022 Food Vendor Business Licences is in effect through to April 30, 2022. As part of this review, the Town is seeking feedback from members of the public and the business community regarding proposed changes to business licensing specific to Food Vendors including food trucks and refreshments carts located on public and private property.

Staff Report C2022-10 Business Licensing By-law Update - Food Vendors is now available for review. This report was discussed at the Monday, March 7, 2022 Corporate and Community Services Standing Committee meeting and passed unanimously. Final approval is anticipated by Council at its meeting on March 21, 2022.

Update - Business Licence Applications Now Being Accepted (March 21, 2022)

At its meeting on March 21, 2022, Council approved Staff Report C2022-10 Business Licensing By-law Update - Food Vendors and enacted By-laws 2022-011 Amend Business Licence By-law Schedule E - Food Vendors and 2022-012 Amend Special Event By-law (Food Vendors). At this time, the moratorium on the issuance of business licences to food vendors has been lifted and the Town is accepting applications through our online web portal effective immediately.

    In this survey, we are looking for your feedback on proposed changes to the Town of Collingwood's Business Licensing By-law Schedule E - Food Vendors. Topics will include creating a process for assigning spots to food vendors on municipal property, proposed requirements for food vendors, food vendors at special events and the sale of alcohol by food vendors. This survey is expected to take approximately five (5) minutes to complete. All responses and comments will be received and incorporated into a forthcoming report on this matter to the Corporate and Community Services standing committee meeting.
