"I wanted to be part of a team who cared about what was happening in Downtown Collingwood. A team who can work together and make smart and meaningful decisions which can benefit all our businesses and visitors alike. Since the livelihoods of not only myself and family, but employees as well depend on how many people pass through the doors of my business."
David Conning, Director - BIA Board of Management
"As owners of Clerkson’s Home Store at 85 Hurontario, my wife and I feel that there is no other spot where we would want to do business than in the Downtown Heritage District. It is critical to Collingwood that the Business Improvement Area flourishes as a beautiful, well managed area for successful retail, restaurants and services. When I was asked to run for a seat on the Board and then elected, I welcomed the chance to offer my opinions and time to help shape the look and character of our Downtown. After six years on the Board, I continue to be encouraged by the passion of fellow stakeholders to work together and continue to improve the Downtown environment."
Meghan Berofsky, Director - BIA Board of Management
“I enjoy being on the BIA Board of Management because I get to brainstorm ideas with people from all sectors. They open my mind to intriguing ideas/concepts to better our downtown that I would not think of myself. It is amazing to learn about new things and strategies. “
“I wanted to run for the BIA Board of Management because having my own business in the downtown it was important that I see it thrive. If I want the area I run my business to do well than why not be involved so I can make it happen.”
