Affordable Housing

As someone who has a great job within our community, with good pay, along with my partner - even with the income we bring in, we are NOT able to afford the high prices of rent in the area. I have lived in Collingwood my entire life and now starting a family, it is a town that I want to be able to raise my child in. I love the trails systems, being so close to the water and all Collingwood has to offer.

However, with the high demand of housing on top of the high pricing of rentals - we may be FORCED to move out of town, meaning away from family and further from our jobs that we love (or even switch jobs). As stated, I have lived here my whole life and have seen prices of rentals and what they COULD be. I also understand home prices have gone up; but the town needs to step in and HELP as we are going to lose more people and be in a crisis when it comes to jobs if people of ALL walks of life cannot afford to live here.
