New Business Accelerator coming to South Georgian Bay

After more than a year of work assessing the feasibility of a Business Accelerator and reviewing a business plan for its roll-out, Council approved its financial and in-kind support for this major initiative on January 18, 2021. It is a key component of the recently approved 2020-2025 Economic Development Action Plan. This new initiative is being spearheaded by the Centre for Business & Economic Development (CBED), part of the Community Futures Development Program and one of the not-for-profit partners at the Business Development Centre in Downtown Collingwood.

The Business Accelerator of South Georgian Bay will offer programs that exponentially accelerate the development of emerging companies identified as having potential for significant growth and success. It will also offer Education and Training, Pathways to Funding and act as a key business Networking Platform.
