The Town of Collingwood and the Town of the Blue Mountains OPP have released their 2020-2022 Strategic Plan and we want to hear from you!
This online forum invites residents to share their input about safety and police services. This feedback will help the Board collect public opinions on policing issues and serve as a gauge of public concern about crime and policing issues and recommendations for improvements to police services.
The Police Services Board consists of five members, three appointed by the Town and two appointed by the Province.

The OPP is committed to public safety and delivering proactive and innovative policing in partnership with our communities. Police services in the Town are provided by the Ontario Provincial Police pursuant to an agreement between the Town and the Province. Policing is carried out under the direction of the local Detachment Commander.
Share your priorities and concerns about police services in your community and in Collingwood.
It is important that the needs of the community are heard when reviewing the OPP's 2020-2022 Action Plan. Let us know what police services are important to you as a resident of Collingwood.

Regular neighbourhood patrols. We live at Erie and Raglan and the nighttime prowling, trespassing and petty thefts are disconcerting. Speed controls in school zones.

As a former member of the PSB I wonder about the same thing we dealt with years ago --- More street patrols off the mail road ways.

We need more traffic enforcement in Collingwood. The driving habits of those visiting this area are atrocious. Speeding on our roads that have a 50km/hr limit is to the point of being ridiculous with a high number of drivers going 80 in a 50 zone.

I live at 341 Hurontario St and over the past year I have witnessed an almost universal disregard for road and bike safety and speed. Noise and violations of HTS and rarely see police. Lights at Hume &Hurontario disregarded. Air brake use in town.

More active engagement with community. Getting to know people. Helping rather than arresting. Supporting rather than criminalizing. Drop the thin blue line! Become part of the community.

I would like to see body/dash cameras on the officers. For everyone's protection, both the officers and the public.

I would like to see an officer walk the streets 2-3 mornings a week, greeting people on the street, dropping into stores to introduce themselves and becoming a familiar presence in downtown. Loblaws to 4th and the Monaco to Nobles. Community policin

Speeding, running red lights Mufflers that are noisy by design (modified mufflers) U-turns, especially on main streets and intersections in town
